Do you have a library card?

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and if you don't yet have a library card, the Grayslake Area Public Library is offering some incentives.

Anyone who signs up for a library card this month will be entered into a drawing and could win items like Amazon gift cards (for adults and teens) and stuffed Curious George animals (for children).

It's easy to sign up for a library card. Just bring in two forms of identification that have both your name and address on them to verify your residency, along with a photo ID. A valid drivers license with your current address on it, along with a check, utility bill or piece of mail, will suffice, according to a press release issued by the library. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian to sign up.

"When you have a Grayslake library card, you are connected to a wide variety of resources that benefit you and your family," said Roberta Thomas, library director. "Visiting the library and getting signed up for a card is one of the best investments of your time that you will ever make."
