Don't Drive Through Flooded Roadways: Lake County Sheriff
The Lake County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone on the roadways to "Turn around, don't drown."
LAKE COUNTY, IL — You've probably heard it before, "Turn around, don't drown." The Lake County Sheriff's Office reminds motorists and anyone out and about to listen to this advice, as severe weather in the northern half of the county will cause water to rise under bridges, overpasses and in low-laying roadways. The sheriff's office asks that every one on the roadways please not try to drive through any water.
On Tuesday, Sept. 17, Lake County residents can get more information on how to protect themselves and their businesses against flooding at an upcoming public information meeting hosted by local officials. >> More information
