DUI Driver Causes 2 Crashes In Gurnee: Police
Amilicar Marroquin-Salinas, 30, of Lake Villa, is accused of driving drunk and causing the two collision Thursday night.
GURNEE, IL — A drunk driver caused two collision in Gurnee Thursday night, authorities said Friday.
Amilicar Marroquin-Salinas, 30, of Lake Villa, was taken into custody for allegations he drove drunk and crashed into a pole on Washington Street near Kingsport Drive at about 11 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department. The Subaru Forester he was driving flipped onto its side in the ditch.
The collision caused a wire to drape across the street, which lead to a second collision, police said. In that crash, a Chevrolet pick-up truck headed west on Washington Street ran into the wire.

Marroquin-Salinas was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor cuts and bruises following the initial collision. He has been cited for driving while under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision.
The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured, according to authorities.
