Free Domestic Violence Awareness Program In Lake County

Here's where and when the free upcoming event — open to all — is set to take place.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Faith Committee of Lake County’s Domestic Violence Council is hosting a free domestic violence awareness program for all members of the public from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 in the Ray Bradbury room of the Waukegan Public Library, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The library is located at 128 North County Street in Waukegan.

According to the release, Rocio Garcia, Education & Outreach Coordinator with A Safe Place, will share signs and symptoms of domestic violence, in addition to how to help friends and loved ones involved in domestic violence situations.

Information regarding how institutions of faith can help in domestic violence situations will also be shared, the release said.
