Free Summer Concert Series On The Lawn
The Grayslake Public Library offers great summer entertainment options.
Jamie LonoΒ from Cee Lo Greenβs Team on NBCβs Television ShowΒ The VoiceΒ kicked off the Concert Series with the firstΒ of five free concerts at the Grayslake Area Public Library. The concerts are family friendly and open to all ages.
Upcoming concerts include performances by one of the premier Beatles tribute bandsΒ The Cavern BeatΒ and a wonderful all new Polynesian music and dance review. Please note new date of Beach Bum Concert β they will perform Monday, July 16.Β

Come out to the lawn at 100 Library Lane for some summer magic and musical performances. Bring your family and friends, dinner or snacks, lawn chairs and blankets, and twisting, dancing and relaxing shoes.
Come ready to enjoy a night of fun and entertainment under the summer sky.Β Thereβs a little something for everyone this year: one of Cee Lo Greenβs team members from NBCβs The Voice, lush and inspired acoustic melodies, sounds from the islands, and one of the best Beatles tribute bands around. The library will provide limited seating -- bring your own blankets or chairs.

Concerts are sponsored by the Friends of the Library and areΒ free. There may be some fun surprises in store for concert-goers too, including some summer treats and fun giveaways, so come and enjoy the sweet nights of summer at the library.
TEAR-WATERΒ CHILIΒ -- Opening Performance by Jon Napiorkowski, Monday, June 25 at 7 p.m.
Indie bandΒ Tear Water ChiliΒ is an experimental folk/rock duo from right here in our own community. Fun and spirit-moving, their sound waves bring original work infused with flavors of blues, jazz, folk and rock. Their most recently released album is titledΒ Sugar + RainΒ βΒ concert goers will have a chance to win copies of this CD.Β Β
They will also perform selections from their album of childrenβs songs thatβs expected to be released later this year. Opening for Tear-Water Chili is another local musician, Jon Napiorkowski. Heβs performed at Ravinia and will serenade us here with popular tunes and original songs in the style of John Mayer, Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson.
JOHNNY RUSSLER & THE BEACH BUM BAND, Monday, July 16 at 7 p.m.Β (this concert has been rescheduled to this new date β July 9 cancelled)
Join Johnny Russler and his Beach Bum Band as they transport you away, playing the Sweet Sound of Caribbean Rock, Reggae and Calypso. Youβll hear some wonderful renditions of some of your favorite beach and summer songs including those by Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley and others.
THE CAVERN BEAT, Monday, July 23Β at 7 p.m.
Get ready to twist and shout the night awayβ¦The Fab Four are coming to rock the Library!Β
Join us on the lawn for a very special concert as we present one of the worldβs premier Beatles Tribute Bands. Theyβve performed all over the world and are compared to 'the jukebox' for sounding so much like the real thing! To stay true to that sound, they use vintage guitars and amplifiers in their performances-- the same brand the Beatles used. And, they dress and wear their hair in the famous Fab Four style for the full effect! Be a part of this magical, musical tour of Beatles music. Β
MAKANI AND FRIENDS, Monday, August 6 at 7 p.m.
Youβll want to bring the whole family to see this unique and all-new summer review. Come with us on a journey to the Polynesian Islands. Listen as the tropical breezes carry the beautiful voices of Makani, the strumming of ukuleles, the beating of the Tahitian Drums and the traditional dances of Hokuleβa. Hear songs from Hawaiβi, Tahiti and New Zealand. This year, experience those familiar songs of Hawaiβi along with the traditional selections. Get ready to move to the heartbeat of the all new Tahitian Drum segment. Feel the heat of the Siva Afi (Dance of Fire) by Hokuleβaβs ownβ¦βKawikaβ and youβll be captivated by the beautiful dancing of Hokuleβaβs, βAkamai.β A hui hou! (until we meet again).
