Grayslake Library Seeks To Fill Open Trustee Seat

The library board is looking to appoint a trustee, who will serve in the position through the April 2025 election.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — The Grayslake Area Public Library District is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its library board.

The position is to be filled until a trustee is elected by the voters in the April 2025 election.

Potential candidates must be residents of the library district. This is an unpaid position that will require the appointed trustee to attend regular library board meetings at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month and serve on one or more committees.

The primary responsibilities of a trustee are to determine the library’s role in the community and set goals to support that role, adopt written policies governing the library's operations, and ensure adequate funding to provide services to our patrons, according to a news release from the Grayslake Area Public Library.

Applications are currently available on the library’s website at grayslake.info, and will be accepted until 5 p.m. one Sept. 6.
