Grayslake Mayor Will Not Run For Fifth Term
Taylor was first elected as a trustee in 2001 and then as mayor in 2009.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Grayslake Mayor Rhett Taylor will not be running for a fifth term next spring.
Taylor, who was first election as a trustee in 2001 and then as mayor in 2009, announced in recent weeks he will not run and endorsed trustee Elizabeth Davies as his choice for the next mayor for Grayslake, according to the Lake County News-Sun.
“I feel I’ve achieved my objectives that I had when I ran for office,” he told the newspaper. “While this is a unique opportunity, and I’ve loved every day, it’s not intended for one person to be mayor in perpetuity.”
