Gun Pulled On Security Staff After Duo Kicked Out Of Bar: Police
The two men now face charges after they attempted to get back into the bar several times near Antioch late Friday night.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — Two men who were kicked out of a bar in Lake County, only to return — one of them armed — to confront security staff at the establishment near Antioch, now face charges.
Ronald X. Owens, Jr, 37, of Lisle, and Edwin Roddy, 42, of Waukegan, were taken into custody following the incident at the bar in the 27800 block of West Grass Lake Road in unincorporated Antioch late on Friday night, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.


At the time, security staff at the bar removed both men for being disruptive. After getting kicked out of the bar, Owens and Roddy walked to their car in the parking lot and then returned to confront security, police said.

Owens, who was armed with a gun, pointed the firearm at security and pulled the trigger several times, according to the news release. The gun malfunctioned and did not fire. Roddy and Owens went back to their vehicle and then left the bar, only to return again and try to get back inside, police said.
They were stopped again by security, and Roddy punched one of the security guards, according to the news release. Deputies with the sheriff's office found the duo and took them into custody, police said.

Owens has been charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, a Class 3 felony; two counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, Class 4 felonies; and no FOID/noCCL, a Class 4 felony. Roddy has been charged with battery.
