Gurnee Woman Arrested On Warrant For Domestic Battery: Police
Recent crimes reported by the Libertyville Police Department.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — On Tuesday, June 26, the Libertyville Police Department shared recent crime reports, and the individuals involved who are accused of the following charges:
Driving under the influence (DUI)
Libertyville police conducted a traffic stop after seeing a car traveling southbound on Milwaukee Avenue without its tail lights on at 10:05 p.m., June 22. According to police, the driver was identified as 40-year-old Omar D. Johnson, of the 1400 block of Lorraine Place, Waukegan, who was unable to provide proof of liability insurance. While interacting with Johnson, police reportedly observed several indicators that the driver was impaired, and asked him to perform a field sobriety test, police said.

According to police, Johnson failed the test, was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department. Police reported the car was inventoried and towed, and that during the inventory, open alcoholic beverage containers were found in the passenger compartment.
Johnson was processed and accused of several offenses, facing charges of DUI, DUI (0.8 or more), illegal transport of alcohol, driving without lights when required, and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to the police report. Police added that Johnson was released on a $2,000 recognizance bond and after posting his driver's license. According to police, he has a pending court date of July 5 at Lake County Court in Waukegan.

Warrant arrest
Libertyville police conducted a traffic stop on a car on US Highway 45, near Peterson Road at 11:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. According to police, the driver was identified as 32-year-old Ola P. Sutton, of the 36000 block of N. Grand Oaks, Gurnee. During the traffic stop police discovered that Sutton was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Lake County for charges of Domestic Battery, according to police.
Sutton was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department, but was unable to post bond and was then taken to the Lake County Jail in Waukegan to await bond court, police reported.
