Lake Co. Man Abducts, Batters, Locks Ex-Girlfriend In Barn: Cops
Claudio Gutierrez-Ocampo faces multiple felony charges after the victim's daughter saw her mother being beaten, taken and called 911.

ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL β A woman was abducted by her ex-boyfriend early Friday morning before she was taken to an abandoned barn in unincorporated Mundelein, where she was rescued before she could be abused further, Lake County police said.
Claudio Gutierrez-Ocampo, 41, Round Lake Beach, faces multiple felony charges including kidnapping, home invasion, and domestic battery after police said he forced the woman to the location and forcibly removed her clothing, according to the Lake County Sheriffβs Office.
Police said Gutierrez-Ocampo went to the womanβs home in the 32000 block of Fairfield Road at 1:30 a.m. and woke the woman up. The two began to argue, which woke up the womanβs daughter who was also at the residence at the time, police said. Gutierrez-Ocampo then forced the woman outside, hit her, and forced her into his van.

Gutierrez-Ocampo then drove the woman to a Fairfield Road property that he owns and locked the woman inside a makeshift bedroom inside a barn, police said. He then forced her to remove her clothes.
The womanβs daughter, realizing her mother had been abducted, went to the remote property where she saw Gutierrez-Ocampoβs van and called 911. Deputies arrived at the location and took the man into custody before he could do any more harm to the woman, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the attack, police said.

Gutierrez-Ocampo faces two felony counts of kidnapping, two counts of home invasion, unlawful restraint, and two counts of domestic battery. Further charges are possible, police said.
He remains in the Lake County Jail after appearing in court on the charges on Friday.
