Lindenhurst Woman Dies Days After Motorcycle Crash: Coroner
The collision happened Saturday night near Antioch. The woman killed in the collision has been identified as Mechelle Hall, 48.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 48-year-old Lindenhurst woman has died following a collision last week near Antioch.
The crash happened in the area of Route 59 and Diemer Street in unincorporated Antioch at about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 when a 1998 Harley-Davidson, with the Lindenhurst woman as a passenger, crashed, authorities said.
When paramedics arrived they found the woman, who has been identified as Mechelle Hall, unconscious and unresponsive in the road, police said.

The woman was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with injuries that were considered critical and life-threatening. On Wednesday morning, authorities learned Hall died at the hospital.
Preliminary results from an investigation show Hall died from blunt force injuries as a result of a crash, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash team.
Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly identified Hall as the driver of the motorcycle. She was the passenger.
