Man, 37, Killed In Rollover Crash Near Antioch

The collision happened Monday afternoon in the area of West Grass Lake Road and Broadway Avenue in unincorporated Antioch.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 37-year-old Wauconda man is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Antioch.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff's Office were called to the area of West Grass Lake Road and Broadway Avenue in unincorporated Antioch at about 1:10 p.m. Monday for the single-vehicle crash, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived they found a heavily damaged GMC Sierra. The driver, a 37-year-old Wauconda man, had already been removed from the sports utility vehicle by bytanders.

He sustained critical injuries and was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he later died.

A preliminary investigation shows the GMC was headed west on West Grass Lake Road when it went off the road, hit a utility pole and rolled over. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
