Man, 51, Still Missing; Foul Play Suspected: Police

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 51-year-old Lake County man is still missing as an investigation into his disappearance continues, police said.

Authorities suspect foul play may be linked to the disappearance of Ruslan Furman, of the 16500 block of North Route 83 in unincorporated Mundelein. Last week, crews searched in and around Diamond Lake for Furman.

The search was futile and as of Monday, Furman remained missing, police said.

"Detectives continue to investigate," Christopher Covelli, deputy chief with the Lake County Sheriff's Office, said Monday.

Covelli said detectives believe foul could be "linked to his disappearance." On Wednesday, detectives searched Furman's home after obtaining a search warrant, Covelli said.

As of Thursday, authorities could not share why they believe Furman's disappearance to be suspicious in nature.
