Man Busted With Child Porn Lived In Home With Daycare: Police
Jose Real, 52, of Grayslake now faces child pornography charges as police investigate if any local children were victimized, police said.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — Authorities are working to determine if a Grayslake man, who was busted with hundreds of child pornography images and videos on his phone, targeted any children at a daycare run by a family member, police said Thursday.
Jose Real, 52, was taken into custody after local authorities learned videos containing child pornography were being downloaded and shared from a home in the 1200 block of Chesterfield Lane in Grayslake. Detectives first searched the home, which is also the location of the in-house daycare, on July 19, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Before they entered the home, they saw Real trying to hide his cell phone in a potted plant, police said. Detectives found, and seized, the phone before conducting a forensic examination of the phone.

During the probe, detectives found more than 1,000 videos and images of child pornography, some of which involved children as young as infants, and determined Real downloaded the content, according to the news release.
"Sheriff’s detectives are actively investigating to determine if any of the recovered child pornography is linked to the children who were being supervised at the home," authorities said in a news release Thursday.

Police took Real into custody on Wednesday on an arrest warrant. He's been charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, and on Thursday, a Lake County judge ruled Real be detained pending a detention hearing Friday afternoon.
Additional charges are likely again Real, police said Thursday.
The Department of Children and Family Services has also been alerted to the investigation and the daycare is no longer allowed to operate as a probe into Real continues.
In light of the investigation, police are asking local resident to speak to their children about inappropriate touching and grooming. Anyone who feels their child has been victimized is asked to call their local police department, authorities said.
