Man Forces Way Into Round Lake Home, Chases Person With Golf Club
The man is accused of using a golf club to smash out the back door window, while also kicking the door in, according to police.

ROUND LAKE PARK, IL — A Chicago man is facing felony trespassing charges after being arrested on accusations he forced his way into a Round Lake home Saturday morning and chased the resident with a golf club, just hours after being accused of battery at the same location, according to the Round Lake Park Police Department. Richard Douglas-McDonald, 21, of the 1200 block of Roosevelt Avenue, was arrested in the 400 block of Clifton Drive at 11:30 a.m. after he reportedly used a golf club to smash out the back door's window, while also kicking the door in, and then chasing the person inside, according to a news release from the department.
According to the release, Douglas-McDonald had just been released on a personal recognizance bond for battery several hours earlier.
"It appears McDonald returned to the house and teed off on the door breaking a window and the door frame then began chasing a subject in the home with 3 iron in hand," Chief George Filenko said in the release.

Douglas-McDonald is facing misdemeanor charges of obstructing a peace officer, criminal trespass to residence and criminal trespass to real property, and felony charges of criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to residence, according to police.
According to the release, Douglas-McDonald's bond was set at $25,000 cash, with the Lake County Sheriff's Office listing it as 10 percent to apply.

Douglas-McDonald will be held until his pretrial hearing Tuesday, June 11, after he said he could not post bail, according to police, and additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
