Man Sentenced For 2018 Round Lake Park Attack On Ex-Girlfriend
Gary Reiher, of Marengo, admitted in front of a judge on May 30 to attacking his ex-girlfriend in Round Lake Park, a report said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Lake County judge sentenced a Marengo man to three years in prison Thursday after he pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery stemming from a November 2018 incident involving a former girlfriend. According to Rayne Galbraith of the Lake County Public Defender's Office, 33-year-old Gary Reiher, of the 500 block of Eisenhower Street, admitted in front of Judge Victoria Rossetti to attacking his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend in her Round Lake Park house on Nov. 1, the Daily Herald reported. According to the news report, Galbraith added that Reiher is required to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he's eligible for parole, as part of the deal made Thursday.
In exchange for the plea deal, charges of aggravated restraint and home invasion against Reiher were dropped, and he was ordered to serve four years on parole after he completes his prison sentence, according to Galbraith.
According to the Daily Herald, prosecutors previously said Reiher got inside his ex-girlfriend's house on the 300 block of Highmoor Drive through a window about 4 a.m. Nov. 1, and authorities accused him of dragging her by her hair and her arm, choking her, beating her, poking her in the stomach with a knife, and hitting her 4-year-old child.
