Motorcyclist ID'd In Fatal Gurnee Crash

Police said a motorcycle collided with a semi-truck in the Monday morning crash.

GURNEE, IL — One person is dead after a motorcycle collided with a semi-truck Monday morning in the area of Route 45 and Dada Drive in Gurnee, police said. According to the Gurnee Police Department, officers were called to the crash site at 7:35 a.m. Monday, for a traffic crash with injuries.

According to the department, officers at the crash site found that the motorcycle and semi collided, and the driver of the motorcycle died of injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver wasn't injured.

On Tuesday, the Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist who died in the crash as 50-year-old Alex Gamburg, according to the Daily Herald.

The coroner's office said an autopsy showed Gamburg died of blunt force injuries.

On Monday morning, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said the crash had shut down Route 45 between Washington and Rollins.
