New Trail Underpass Construction At Grand Avenue Begins July 9
Work is part of Millennium Trail extension through Fourth Lake Forest Preserve.

News from the Region:
Work on a new underpass at Grand Avenue just west of Route 45 in Lindenhurst is set to begin July 9. Completion is expected in summer 2013. Grand Avenue will remain open during construction, though periodic traffic delays are expected.
The underpass is part of theΒ Millennium TrailΒ extension throughΒ Fourth Lake Forest PreserveΒ and is being installed to provide trail users safe passage at Grand Avenue and access from Fourth Lake toΒ Bonner Heritage FarmΒ andΒ McDonald Woods.

During construction, the section of Fourth Lake and Millennium Trail between Rollins Road and Grand Avenue will be closed to public access and will open when all work on the underpass is complete. The section of Fourth Lake and Millennium Trail north of Grand Avenue will remain open with parking available at the Lake County Forest PreserveΒ Operations and Public Safety FacilityΒ on Grand Avenue in Lindenhurst.
The underpass is partially funded by an Illinois Transportation Enhancement grant from theΒ Illinois Department of Transportation.
