Patriot Guard, Warriors Escort Ira Fain Home to Hainesville

Ira Fain of Hainesville came home from Afghanistan a month early, led by a several motorcycles, a Grayslake Fire Truck, Grayslake Police officers and friends and family.

The welcome home celebration was made even more special by several veterans leading the way.

Members of the Warriors Watch, the Patriot Guard and the American Motorcycle Club escorted Fain to his house. Nearly 300 friends and neighbors were waiting to welcome Fain home.

"This is just great," said veteran Frank Foster of Schaumburg, a member of Warriors Watch, standing outside of Fain's home. Friends, neighbors and strangers gathered in the street to welcome Fain home after nearly a year abroad.

"To me, I find it rewarding because I came back from Vietnam and it wasn't like this," Foster said. "So we all stand behind the motto that it will never happen again like that."

The Warriors Watch mission statement says "...we will honor our nation's warriors here at home, and support their families while they fight for us abroad."

Foster said they escort veterans home from distant lands to ensure they get a big welcome home.

"Every one of these homecomings that we do is special," Foster said. "It is important to welcome every one of these guys home."
