Pedestrian Ran In Front Of Truck In Self Harm Attempt: Sheriff
No charges are anticipated at the moment, according to the sheriff's office.
GAGES LAKE, IL — A 45-year-old man was seriously injured after reportedly running in front of a moving car in a self-harm attempt, according to a release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, deputies were sent to the intersection of West Gages Lake Road and Almond Road in Gages Lake. They found the man, who has no permanent address, with serious injuries.
A pick up truck, driven by a 64-year-old Grayslake man, was headed west on Gages Lake Road when the pedestrian "quickly ran" onto the roadway and stopped directly in the path of the truck, the release says.

The driver was not injured. He has been completely cooperative with authorities, Sgt. Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff's Office told Patch. No charges are anticipated.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment and a mental health evaluation.
