Round Lake Beach Man Charged in Connection With Monday Shooting

The 20-year-old man is being held in the Lake County Jail on $500,000 bond.

A Round Lake Beach man has been charged in connection with the shooting of another Round Lake Beach man Monday, the Daily Herald reports.

According to the Daily Herald, Dustin S. Neal, 20, is being held in the Lake County Jail on $500,000 bond. He was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony, the Daily Herald reports.

Patch reported Tuesday that the shooting occurred at 8:12 p.m. Monday near Fairfield and Mayfield. At the time, Round Lake Police Lt. Rich Chiarello declined to offer many details about the incident, including the victim's name and why he was shot. He would only say that police "do not believe this was a random act."

According to the Daily Herald, Neal has also been charged with three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
