Shorewood Road Closed For Five Days

The straightest path between two neighboring subdivisions is now impossible to get through.

Shorewood Road, in between Route 83 and Hainesville Road, is closed at the railroad tracks for repairs. For drivers who normally take about three minutes to go from the Links of English Meadows subdivision or Renwood Golf Course less than a quarter-mile to the English Meadows subdivision, be prepared to now sit in traffic a while, 15 minutes or more.

To get from Hainesville Road to Route 83, you have to detour north of Shorewood Road on Hainesville, head east on Rollins Road, then go back south on Route 83 to end up at, say, Grayslake North High School. Not fun, but they claim the improvements will make for a smoother ride.

Shorewood Road will be closed until Monday, May 23. It remains open on either side of the tracks for local residents.
