The roundup also covers several other boys and girls basketball matchups and a major wrestling title, but Grayslake fans will especially note North’s strong tournament showing.
   

• Firefighters rescue dog after home's chimney engulfed in flames, leaving family displaced in Gurnee (lakemchenryscanner.com) — Grayslake firefighters were among several departments called to help battle a chimney fire that left a Gurnee townhouse uninhabitable and displaced a mother and daughter. Crews rescued a dog, contained the blaze to one unit, and officials are urging residents in nearby communities like Grayslake to closely monitor fireplaces and home heating during the cold season.
