The project, which extends to Dorchester Avenue in Gurnee, will cause intermittent lane closures and may lead to delays through November.

GURNEE, IL — Area drivers can expect to see delays over the next few months as a resurfacing project on Skokie Highway is scheduled to begin on Aug. 16 and will extend to Dorchester Avenue in Gurnee, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.
The project, which is expected to be completed by November, will require intermittent lane closures during the daytime and nighttime hours, IDOT officials said in a news release Thursday. The project will also include replacing deteriorated curbs and access to residences and businesses within the zone will continue throughout the construction.
The project will start at Riverside Drive (Illinois 21) and will end up in Gurnee.
