Teens Accused Of Shooting Into Homes, Vehicle Near Grayslake: Police

Jabreon Bell, 19, and Sir Mark Hill, 18, both of unincorporated Grayslake, face charges in connection with the "reckless" acts, police said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Shots were fired into homes and a vehicle near Grayslake early Saturday, and police have taken two into custody in connection with the incidents, authorities said.

Jabreon Bell, 19, and his friend, Sir Mark Hill, 18, both of unincorporated Grayslake, have been charged in connection with the "reckless" acts, police said.

Authorities were first called to investigate a report of shots fired in the 18400 block of West Meander Drive in unincorporated Grayslake at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived, they found bullet holes in a vehicle and two nearby homes.

Police found Bell and Hill in the area. The duo initially told authorities they had been shot at by a passing vehicle, police said.

But authorities found video surveillance footage that showed them both armed with guns. The video also showed Hill firing several rounds, according to a news release.

Both were taken into custody, and detectives searched Hill's homes and found two loaded pistols, including one that had an extended magazine.

Both Hill and Bell have been charged with four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm, and Hill has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

Both are expected to make an initial court appearance Sunday.
