Waukegan Man Out On Bond Accused Of Drug, Weapon Possession

According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the search warrant resulted in authorities finding drugs and a semi-automatic pistol.

WAUKEGAN, IL — A Waukegan man was arrested Monday as the result of a two-month narcotics investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Group, according to a release from the sheriff's office. During the investigation, Quinten Wooding, 33, of the 3000 block of Arthur Court, was out on bond from a May incident in Zion, where he was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, the sheriff's office said.

Members of the LCSO Special Investigations Group got a search warrant for Wooding's home and carried out search warrant Monday, according to the release.

After the search, authorities found that Wooding was in possession of a semi-automatic pistol, over 15 grams of heroin (packaged for delivery) and over a gram of cocaine, also packaged for delivery, the sheriff's office said.

Wooding was arrested and faces felony charges of armed habitual criminal, unlawful possession of heroin with intent to delivery, unlawful possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, according to the release.

“The diligence and hard work of our Special Investigations Group resulted in the arrest of a convicted felon, who was out on bond," Sheriff John Idleburg said, in the release. "Drugs and violence do not have place in Lake County and our Special Investigations Group, along with all our staff, are working hard to keep our community safe.”

The sheriff's office said Wooding is being held on $500,000.00 bail with his next court date scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20.
