Sheriff's deputies, police officers and K9 units search for Wisconsin man wanted for homicide after pursuit ends.
ZION, IL — A man wanted on a warrant for homicide got away from police Saturday night after a high-speed chase from Wisconsin to Illinois. According to Lake & McHenry County Scanner, the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department started following a red Hyundai Sonata around 11 p.m. Saturday, with the pursuit eventually crossing the state line into Illinois, police reported. Police chased the car headed southbound on Green Bay Road before the man stopped the car near Stonebridge Drive in Zion, authorities said, according to the news report.
That's when the man got out of the car and ran from police into the subdivision, according to Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli.
According to Lake & McHenry Scanner, K9 units from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Zion Police Department came out to help search for the suspect. Both K9 units tried tracking the man but he already left the area, Covelli said, according to the news report. Sheriff's deputies from the Lake County Sheriff's office, in addition to officers from Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and Zion police departments also responded to the scene, according to the news source.
