No Arrests Made After Woman's Body Found On Side Of Road: Police

The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified the woman whose body was found dumped on the side of a Lake County road this past week.

OLD MILL CREEK, IL β€” Authorities have made no arrests in connection with the strangulation death of a 39-year-old woman whose body was found dumped on the side of the road in Lake County this past week.

On Thursday, the Lake County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Megan Lewis, 39, of Chicago. Lewis' body was found on the east shoulder of the road near the intersection of Hunt Club and Kelly roads in Old Mill Creek on Wednesday morning.

A passerby called police to report the possible body on the side of road at about 7 a.m., according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Investigators believe the woman, who appeared to have some facial trauma, was the victim of a homicide before her body left on the side of the road sometime during the early morning hours, Lake County Sheriff's Office deputy chief Christopher Covelli told Patch.
