Best Ice Cream Around Highland Park: What's Your Favorite?

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Summer is here — that means sunshine, warm weather and of course summertime treats. What better time than now to enjoy some ice cream — especially with National Ice Cream Day coming up on July 18?

Celebrated annually on the third Sunday in July, the tradition began with a 1984 proclamation from President Ronald Reagan, who declared ice cream to be a "nutritious and wholesome food, enjoyed by over ninety percent of the people in the United States."

When it comes to ice cream, everyone's got their favorite — from banana splits to concretes or mixers to a plain old ice cream cone.
