Billy Corgan To Co-Host New Year's Eve TV Broadcast From Madame Zuzu's

Corgan and his wife, Chloe Mendel, will be joined by some of the Chicago area's top jazz musicians for a Prohibition-inspired party on NBC.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is slated to co-host this year's special New Year's Eve broadcast on the Chicago area's NBC affiliate.

Corgan and his wife, fashion designer Chloe Mendel, are due to broadcast from their Highland Park teahouse Madame Zuzu's.

According to WMAQ-TV, Corgan will be joined by some of the Chicago area's most talented jazz musicians, including Frank Catalano, as the teahouse hosts a Prohibition-inspired party with live music and special guests.

Tickets will be available for $325 each, for up to 100 people, including an open bar, light bites and pastries. Those interested in attending can register for an opportunity to buy tickets, with winners selected at random.

"New Year’s Eve in Chicago is one of our city’s most festive nights of the year and we can’t wait to spotlight multiple parties and celebrations for our viewers at home,” Matt Knutson, vice president of multi-platform content for NBCUniversal Local Chicago, said in a release.

"Chicago Today" hosts Matt Rodrigues and Cortney Hall will be broadcasting from the recently renovated Ramova Theatre in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood.

This year's New Year's Eve party at the Ramova will be the first major public event in decades at the theater, which is on the National Register of Historic Places and due to officially reopen next month. It is being arranged by acclaimed LGBTQ+ party planners, Slo Mo, and tickets are available online.

And if that's not enough, NBC 5’s Evrod Cassimy and CMT’s Marley Sherwood will team up to tap broadcast from downtown Chicago in the iconic Palmer House Hilton. Tickets are available online.

In addition to Corgan, musical performances are set to include:t hree-time Latin Billboard Music Award winner Ivan Cornejo and indie rock band Mt. Joy. And for trivia buffs, there's a chance to win a cool $2,024 by acing some Chicago trivia questions through a live interactive QR code game.
