Celebrate Memorial Day In Highland Park
The community is invited to celebrate Memorial Day at Highland Park's annual observance celebration.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The City of Highland Park invites the community to celebrate Memorial Day at its annual observance.
Attendees will enjoy a keynote address from Captain Steven Yargosz, USN, Commander of Naval Station Great Lakes.
"The City greatly appreciates the partnership of Naval Station Great Lakes in honoring the memory of our fallen service men and women," officials said in a statement.

Highland Park Poet Laureate Laura Joyce-Hubbard will read a poem written for this event, and the Highland Park High School band will perform patriotic music. The event will also include a bell ceremony.
The city's annual Memorial Day observance is planned in partnership with the American Legion Post #145, Jewish War Veterans Post #29, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4737.

Additionally, in observance of the holiday the following services and locations will be closed or delayed:
- City administrative services
- Refuse, recycling and curbside compost collection
- Connector and Pace bus routes 471 and 472
