Dishwalla, Spin Doctors To Headline Taste Of Highland Park 2024

The bands behind the 90s alternative hits "Counting Blue Cars" and "Two Princes" are due to perform at The Lot in June.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Downtown Highland Park is due to host a weekend of food, fun and music as the Taste of Highland Park opens the summer season at The Lot.

Headliners Dishwalla, of "Counting Blue Cars" fame, and Spin Doctors, the band behind the hit "Two Princes," will bring their platinum-selling hits of the 1990s to the outdoor venue at 525 Central Ave. on June 21 and June 22.

They will be supported by Nine Days, known for the single "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)," as well as cover bands Jaren Grey Band and Serendipity, according to organizers.

On the second day of the festival, Uptown Music Theater will present a selection from their upcoming production of the musical Les Misérables.

Proceeds from the show, which is due to open in July, benefit the Highland Park Shooting Recovery Fund of the Highland Park Community Foundation.

Food vendors on site will offer Mexican, Indian, American, Venezuelan, pizza and vegetarian menu items.

Participating food vendors include Bella Ru Catering, BWB Shakes, Cafe Dacha, Curt’s Café, Indus Progressive Indian Dining, Judy’s Pizza, La Taquiza HP, Lynfred Winery, Michael’s Grill & Salad Bar, Pixca, Ravinia Brewing Company, Sugarcoated and Tamales. Alcohol will be available to purchase for those 21 and older.

The Lot is now in its third season at the corner of St. Johns and Central Avenues. It is also due to feature the French Market on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting June 9.

Later in June, The Lot is scheduled to host the grand finale of the Bitter Jester Music Festival.

  • 5 to 6:15 p.m.: Jaren Grey Band
  • 7 to 8 p.m.: Nine Days
  • 8:30 to 10 p.m.: Dishwalla

June 22

  • 5 to 5:30 p.m.: Uptown Music Theater, "Les Misérables"
  • 6 to 7:15 p.m.: Serendipity
  • 8 to 10 p.m.: Spin Doctors
