Highland Park Banker Named Volunteer Of The Year

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A vice president from a local bank was named Volunteer of the Year by the Illinois Bankers Association.
Lenore Erickson, executive vice president of human resources with First Bank of Highland Park, received the award earlier this month at the association's annual conference in East Peoria.
The award recognizes Erickson for her commitment to the association's scholarship committee and education board, according to the trade group.

The Illinois Bankers Association scholarship program provides up to $1,000 to high school graduates and college students pursuing degrees in the financial services sector, whether in accounting, marketing, information technology or other jobs in finance.
Applications for the scholarships are due March 31. Applicants must already be admitted or enrolled in a college or university and be sponsored by a financial institution and bank officer from a member of the association.

As a member of the Illinois Bankers Education Services Board, Erickson also has helped direct evolving training needs for the financial services industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the association.
Illinois Bankers Association Chair Michelle Gross, an executive officer with the State Bank of Bement, presented Erickson with the award.
“Lenore represents the best of what banking is about: a dedication to community and helping others achieve their dreams,” Gross said. “We are proud to present her with this recognition in thanks for her tireless dedication to advancing the banking industry.”
