Highland Park Man Charged With Assault With A Deadly Weapon: Blotter
Motorist misunderstanding leads to drunken driving charge for Northbrook woman; stolen car found in Milwaukee: Highland Park Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
HOME BURGLARY
Police were called to a home in the 1400 block of Ridge Road around 11 a.m. on March 22 for a report of a break-in. Officers found the window to a bathroom on the second floor had been broken and footprints inside, but it was not known what, if anything, was stolen at the time of the report.
SHOPLIFTING
An unidentified thief stole an unknown amount of cigars from a side display near an unoccupied register at the Walgreens, 632 Rogers Williams Ave., before leaving the store around 11 a.m. on March 25.

STOLEN CAR
Police were called to a report of a stolen car in the 1600 block of Ravine Lane around 8 p.m. on March 29. Around 3:45 a.m. that morning, someone stopped and two people got out. One of them got into an unlocked white Lexus with its keys left inside. The car was later found in Milwaukee.
LOCKER THEFT
Someone stole credit cards from a locker in the men's locker room of the LA Fitness, 115 Skokie Valley Road, at some point between 10 and 11 a.m. on April 2. Someone later used the stolen cards to accrue about $3,600 in charges.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Angela C. Leintz, 52, of the 1000 block of Deerfield Place, Highland Park, was arrested around 10 p.m. on March 23 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop at the intersection of Beverly Place and Central Avenue. Officers also issued her citations for improper lane usage, failure to signal when required and illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver.
Juan Diaz, 41, of the 2600 block of Waukegan Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested on the early morning of March 26 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery after police were called to a report of a disturbance at his home. Diaz is accused of threatening a threatening a person with a knife around 3 a.m. that morning.
Jonathan Crockett, 33, of the 6400 block of South Lowe Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on March 30 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and obstructing identification following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. Officers also issued him citations for speeding 26 to 30 mph above the limit and failure to display proof of insurance.
Amy L. Tranen, 65, of the 900 block of Kensington Drive, Northbrook, was arrested around 9 p.m. on April 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Linden Avenue. Police siad Tranen thought she was following an acquaintance home, but instead mistakenly followed another police who called authorities to report someone was following her some. Officers determined Tranen was too drunk to drive and took her into custody.
