Lucas has been a dedicated scout since first grade, contributing to countless community service projects and holding many leadership positions over the years. Most recently for his Eagle Scout project and with the support of North Shore School District 112, he planned and led a trail restoration at May T. Watts Park, located behind Ravinia Elementary School. His efforts transformed the space by clearing debris from the trails, laying fresh gravel, constructing a seating area and learning circle, and installing informative signs to highlight the native plants along the paths. All this was done while preserving the significant history behind the park.
