Highland Park Woman Charged in Holocaust Reparation Scam

Programs that aid survivors allegedly defrauded out of $57 million.

A Highland Park woman was arrested earlier this month in connection with a scam that defrauded Holocaust reparation programs out of more than $57 million, the Highland Park News reports.

From the Highland Park News:

Anna Zinger, 65, of the 600 block of Walnut Street, Highland Park, allegedly submitted altered applications to obtain money intended for Holocaust survivors in a nine-year conspiracy that began in 2000.

Zinger and at least 30 others who were charged targeted programs that aid survivors of Nazi persecution.

The article states that Zinger "could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for conspiracy to commit mail fraud."
