Highland Park residents have until May 31 to sign up to participate in this year's Independence Day parade.
HIGHLAND PARK, IL — This year's Independence Day Parade in Highland Park theme is a celebration that brings the community together.
Residents have only until May 31st to apply to participate in the annual parade and are encouraged to show their team spirit in planning their entries.
“Highland Park’s Independence Day events reflect the community’s patriotic spirit and steadfast commitment to supporting and celebrating each other,” said Mayor Nancy Rotering. “This year’s parade theme reminds us that teams bring people together in support of a common goal, and that we are most resilient when we support each other.”

Participants are required to pay the following fees:

- Business or elected official/campaign group - $60 before May 31; $100 June 1-6
- Not-for-profit/tax-exempt organization - fee-exempt before May 31; $25 June 1-6
- Neighborhood/resident groups of 10 people or more - $30 before May 31; $50 June 1-6
There is no fee for individual families walking with children and pets.
