HPHS Band Gets Scary for Halloween

Highland Park High School band plays Halloween concert Wednesday. Theater and college events also planned at the high school.

HPHS BAND PRESENTS HALLOWEEN CONCERT

The Highland Park High School Band, costumed as witches, vampires, goblins, and other zany characters, is ready to captivate the audience with their annual Halloween Concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the school auditorium.

This very entertaining concert is for both the young and old and has become a community family favorite featuring a variety of both classical and popular favorites. Families are also invited to the Haunted Hallway immediately following the concert for some tricks and treats.

Highland Park High School’s Playback Theater kicks off its improvisational efforts at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 in the Studio Theater. 

Playback Theatre is an original form of improvisational theatre in which audience members tell stories from their lives then watch as their lives are enacted on the spot by an ensemble of actors. 

Tickets go on sale the week of the show in the bookstore or at the ticket booth in the Studio Theatre. Suggested donation is $5 per ticket. 

INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OPTIONS FAIR COMING IN NOVEMBER 

High school students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend a free International College Options Fair at 7 p.m. November 5 at Deerfield High School. 

The program will include a brief presentation in the North Café by a college fair. Admissions representatives from colleges outside the U.S. will present information about the application processes in their colleges as well as in their countries. 

Colleges and universities from Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, Japan, and Switzerland will be represented. The same program will be offered on November 6 at Hinsdale Central High School.
