HPHS Football Coach Anthony Kopp Honored By Chicago Bears
The 2009 Highland Park High School grad and first-year Giants head coach was named Week 1 "Coach of the Week."

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The Chicago Bears honored the coach of the Highland Park High School varsity football team following last week's victory in the first game of the season.
Anthony Kopp, the first-year HPHS Giants head coach, was named "Coach of the Week" for Week 1 after helping lead his alma mater to a come-from-behind victory.
After going down by 10-0 in Friday's non-conference season opener in Highland Park, the Giants scored 28 unanswered points and held off to win 28-25 over the Leyden Eagles of Franklin Park.

Kopp, a former Giants quarterback who graduated in 2009, has been an assistant with the team since 2013 and spent the prior four years as offensive coordinator. He also coaches girls gymnastics and is an assistant coach on the baseball team.
The Bears organization will donate $2,000 to the Highland Park High School football program as a result of the award, according to representatives of the NFL franchise.

The Giants (1-0) are scheduled to play a home game against the Hubbard Greyhound (0-2) on Saturday.
