Knitting Community Together

On Tuesday, June 17, Wayfarer Theater, the Art Impact Project, and The Art Center Highland Park (TAC) are teaming up to present Knitting and a Movie, a unique event that brings together creativity, community, and a meaningful cause in one unforgettable evening.

"The first time I saw this on Instagram, I thought it was a fun idea and just tucked it away for
later," shares TAC Executive Director James Lynch. "But when I kept seeing it done in
different cities, I realized we had the perfect partners to make it happen right here in
Highland Park."

Since 2023, Art Impact Project has been hosting knitting groups at The Art Center, creating
handmade pieces that are donated to several nonprofit organizations. Wayfarer Theater,
Highland Park’s newest community space for films, live events, and conversation, has
partnered with TAC on several occasions and consistently supports local nonprofit initiatives.
For this special night, attendees will enjoy a screening of The Life of Chuck, a heartfelt,
genre-bending film that celebrates the highs and lows of life, starring Tom Hiddleston,
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, and Mark Hamill.
