Olian 'a devoted participant' in city operation

We are so happy to recommend in her candidacy for mayor of Highland Park. Terri is and has been a devoted participant in the city’s operation. We have witnessed her dedication to the well being of our community through her roles on the school board and the city council. Her leadership in and her continued efforts on behalf of affordable housing demonstrate her selfless commitment to making Highland Park the best of all possible worlds for the diverse range of people who make up our community.

Terri is an amazing person! She is not only an accomplished public servant, she is also an incredible mother to her three children and a valued friend to so many people who are lucky to know her.

In these times of financial difficulty, it is important that we have a mayor who is fiscally savvy and who can make difficult and often critical decisions regarding the operation of our community. Just as important, our mayor must approach the difficult choices that must be made with not only a sharp pencil, but a compassionate heart. Terri is just this type of leader.

She is eminently qualified to take on the mantle of mayor. We are proud to support her and to call her our friend.

Rotering 'a fervent supporter' of the arts

I am proud to support councilman for mayor of Highland Park. There are many reasons Nancy is the most formidable candidate. Her credentials are impressive. Her education and business experience speaks volumes about her ability to lead our city and she has demonstrated that she clearly understands that before anything else, city priorities must be in order.

Having known Nancy for many years I appreciate her deep interest and love of the arts. I have worked with Nancy to nurture the into what it is today. Nancy is a fervent supporter of established and emerging art programs in Highland Park. Year after year she demonstrates her commitment in a variety of ways including her work as a member of the Ravinia Festival Women's Board and her outward support for the that recently moved to Highland Park. On top of all that she has four sons playing seven instruments and involved in District 112 and 113 art programs.

I am continually impressed by her incredible support for keeping the arts (and other social services) in mind when prioritizing where our city should focus its resources. She deeply understands that we have many existing 'gems' and wants to maintain them appropriately.

For all of this and more I strongly urge every resident of Highland Park to vote for Nancy Rodkin Rotering as our next Mayor.

Olian 'will be a strong mayor'

It's a shame that has health issues that keep him from continuing as mayor of Highland Park.

By endorsing as his successor, I believe Mike has made a good choice. Her qualifications are outstanding, and she has served the city and local school district admirably over the past 12 years in elected capacities. Since I have known Terri, she has demonstrated that she loves our city and worked diligently to support key programs and policies. She also makes herself available to residents and listens to their concerns and suggestions.

I believe Terri will be a strong mayor who is committed to working with the City Council and staff and with the community.

Rotering 'embodies the spirit of giving back'

I am writing to support Councilman as the next Mayor of Highland Park.  I have had the opportunity to watch Nancy in action as a parent volunteer in our schools, supporting her children at sporting and school events, and just chatting with her neighbor at a local store. She is a articulate, thoughtful, confident, committed, dedicated, energetic, idealistic; in other words, a true leader.

I have no doubt that Nancy will stay focused on the issues related to Highland Park and its residents. I am equally confident that she would face any opposition head on and stand behind all of her decisions.

Nancy is a life-long resident of Highland Park who embodies the spirit of giving back to the community that helped to shape her into the talented and diverse woman that she is today. Nancy is genuinely interested in what the residents want to see happen in Highland Park.

Vote for Nancy Rotering for Mayor on April 5.
