MAGA Tactics Have Invaded Highland Park City Council Elections

Yesterday, I posted a writing for this site, "Highland park City Council Elections-Has Trumpism Invaded?" Its principal thrust focused on candidate Kim Stone's conflict of interest in voting for a construction project that benefits her residence (installation of permeable pavers on the alley leading to and abutting her home, i.e., the "pavergate" debacle), and the controversy in which she was involved as a council member over the liquor license ordinance fiasco that ultimately led, her vote in tow, to the ouster of council member Jeff Hoobler who held such a liquor license but who the voters of Highland Park still wanted to have as a member of the city's ruling body. It is not coincidental that she is now running for his seat.

Such power grabs and conflicts of interest we have all seen by Trump sitting in the Oval Office since the day he took office on January 20.

I didn't realize my posting was to become prescient, and it took less than 24 hours to do so. What do I mean? For the supporters of Kim Stone, even those on the city council, herself included, backing her, have made up a visual collage of disgusting lies and outright falsehoods, headlined by the words, "Why do the chair of the Lake County Republicans & the Trumpers of HP all have Jon Center signs?", identifying Keith Brin as Chairman, and then with no doubt an AI generated Trump MAGA cap close to a headshot picture of Jon Center. Republicans, really?

So I ask the following:

(1) Keith Brin, did you authorize this document, if not, who did? Come out publicly and tell us!

(2) Who put this communication together and who circulated it?

(2) Who in Highland Park are MAGAs that are supporting Jon Center with signs on their lawns?

(3) Critically, Kim Stone, why haven't you come out to rebuke this communication since you know it is blatantly false? And if you have not, I can only believe this adds to what we HPers do not wish to see as you representing us on the city council.

But there is a silver lining here for Mr. Center. The opposition to him is obviously running scared due to his worthiness---both personally and professionally---besidesknowing his integrity, honesty and trustworthiness that we so need to return for all members on the city council. After all, if he was not such an outstanding candidate, why would someone want to tag him with being associated with a MAGA crowd that does not exist, and reflected in a document that is totally untrue, false, and, well, disgusting to see invading, at least electronically, the sanctity of our hometown?
