Man Asleep at the Wheel Arrested for DUI

Four other people were arrested for DUI in Highland Park last week.

The following is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Kevin Hoy, Jr., 23, of the 600 block of Helmholz Avenue in Waukegan, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of cannabis, open transportation of alcohol and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road at 4 a.m. Oct. 10. Hoy, Jr. was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 14 court date.

Eric Blackert, 28, of the 2000 block of Knollwood Road in Lake Forest, was charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and speeding after being stopped by police in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road at 3 a.m. Oct. 11. Blackert was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 21 court date.

Jarrell Todd, 22, of the 1300 block of Broadway Avenue in North Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 5 a.m. Oct. 11. Todd was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 7 court date.

Michelle Alex, 46, of the 0-50 block of Linden Avenue in Lake Forest, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police near Central Avenue and Beverly Place at 3:30 a.m. Oct. 12. Alex was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 7 court date.

Luis Ruiz-Quezada, 25, of the 1500 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and no valid drivers license after police responded to a report of a subject asleep at the wheel in the 2800 block of Trail Way at 7:45 a.m. Oct. 12. Ruiz-Quezada was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Nov. 14 court date.
