Metra Trains Running Again But Behind Schedule

Update at 12:01 p.m.

Metra's Union Pacific/North line are running, but will arrive at their destinations behind schedule, according to Metra.

The train that was stopped at the Lake Bluff station is operating 100 to 110 minutes behind it's scheduled 10:36 a.m. arrival in Chicago. A second train, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 11:28 a.m., is running 40 to 50 minutes late.

Trains on Metra’s Union Pacific/North Line were stopped Friday morning due to police activity, according to Metra.

A train scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 10:36 a.m. was stopped at the Lake Bluff station, Metra announced at 9:25 a.m., and a train scheduled to arrive in Waukegan at 9:54 a.m. was stopped at the Highwood station and a train scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 11:33 a.m. was stopped at Great Lakes.

The Lake Forester reported that a suspicious package was discovered near the Lake Forest station around 9:30 a.m.

The trains remained stopped at 10:18 a.m., according to Metra.
