Police Blotter: Aggravated Assault With Knife

Aggravated assault with deadly weapon

Alejandro Medina, 66, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (knife), domestic battery and disorderly conduct after police were summoned to a dispute in the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Medina to be transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date.

Burglary from motor vehicle

Police are investigating the delayed report of a burglary to motor vehicle (black iPhone 3GS). The incident occurred between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 while the vehicle was parked unlocked. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Elm Place, Highland Park.

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Matthew Maka, 18, of the 700 block of Ringland Road, Riverwoods, was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after police located a suspicious vehicle parked and occupied by Maka and a juvenile in the 2500 block of Trillium Lane, Highland Park. Maka was released on bond with a court date of March 20 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft where an unknown subject stole the central business district map displayed in a city kiosk sometime between Feb. 9 and Feb. 14. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft of scrap metal taken from the rear of a building in the 1500 block of Old Skokie Road sometime between Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 7 a.m.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft (black wallet containing debit cards and credit cards) sometime on Feb. 17. Several charges were attempted on the cards at various locations after the theft. The incident occurred in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Driving while license suspended

Cesar Octavio Ruiz, 23, of the 4900 block of Karlov, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic control device after being stopped by police near the intersection of Central Avenue and Green Bay Road, Highland Park. Ruiz was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City.

Denitza Subzwari, 26, of the 1700 block of Washtenaw, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 3200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Subzwari was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City.

Kayla Jackson, 20, of the 1100 block of Bank Lane, Beach Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Jackson was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Esmeralda Alvarez-Torres, 35, of the 200 block of North Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a stop sign after being stopped by police near the intersection of Dato Avenue and Old Trail, Highland Park. Alvarez-Torres was released on bond with a court date of March 14 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Robin Allen, 55, of the 700 block of Walnut Street, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and use of a handheld cellular device while driving after being stopped by police near the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Second Street, Highland Park. Allen was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Driving while license revoked

Evaristo Coronel, 40, of the 200 block of Washington, Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, no U-turns and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 1800 block of First Street, Highland Park. Coronel was released on bond with a court date of March 28.

Possession of cannabis

Abraham Camargo, 18, of the 500 block of Green Bay Road, Highwood, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police were called to a report of suspicious activity in the 3000 block of Patten Road, Highland Park. Camargo was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City.

Driving under the influence

Samantha Ray, 25, of the 2000 block of Dicky Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol and Improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 3400 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Ray was released on bond with a court date of March 23 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property where graffiti was found on the south wall glass window of a building. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.

Unknown subjects damaged walls in the basement conference room by taking chunks of drywall out of the wall and writing on them sometime between Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. and Feb. 16 at 9 a.m. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Augusta Way, Highland Park.

Brandon Stevens, 19, of the 300 block of Highwood Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property for damaging a vehicle after police were summoned to a dispute over a parking space in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park. Stevens was released on bond with a court date of March 28 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
