Police Blotter: Car Burglaries, Cocaine Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

Nathan Glicksberg, 26, of the 1500 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with , possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of cannabis after police were called to a report of a subject who had unlawfully entered an unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park. Glicksberg was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan pending court date. 

Police are investigating the report of a burglary to motor vehicle (Black London Fog purse with ID, USC and cosmetics taken). The vehicle was reportedly locked and the window was smashed between 4:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Thaddeus Allen, 18, of the 200 block of East Blodgett Avenue, Lake Bluff, was arrested and charged with speeding, uninsured motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Allen was released on a cash bond with a court date of Feb. 8 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan.

Theft

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft. It was reported that a HTC cell phone was stolen while left unattended on a counter sometime in December, 2011. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the report of a theft. A locked trailer on a job site was broken into and tools were taken overnight between 5 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 9:52 a.m. on Jan. 10. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Orchard Lane, Highland Park. 

Christian Rivera, 19, of the 300 block of Prairie Avenue, Highwood, was arrested and charged with theft for a previously reported case of a stolen iPhone. Rivera was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 25 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City.

Police are investigating the report of a theft (four credit cards, shoes, clothing and keys) were taken between 1:30 p.m. and 2:51 p.m. on Jan. 14. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft (Samsung Galaxy Cell phone left unattended) was taken between 5:45 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 12. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft (black and silver 4th generation 64GB Apple iTouch) was taken between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 14. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. 

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating the report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported an unknown subject cut two tires on a vehicle while parked sometime between 12:15 a.m. and 7 a.m. on reporting date. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Vine Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported on Jan. 10 between 8:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Someone forcibly pried open the front entry door to a residence. Nothing was reported missing from inside or disturbed. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Lorraine Circle, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the delayed report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported damage has been occurring to property since last summer. A car was keyed twice, liquids were poured on a car and a gate damaged. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive, Highland Park. 

Javier Morales-Valencia, 31, of the 700 block of Green Bay Road, Highwood, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property (cell phone damaged) after police were called to a report of a dispute in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. Morales-Valencia was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 3 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Criminal trespass

Katherine Anderson, 27, of the 1600 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property and interference with police after police were called to a complaint of a violation of a no trespass notice in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park.  Anderson was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 8 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan. 

Martha Schatz, 49, of the 1000 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property after police were called to a complaint of a violation of a no trespass notice in the 1000 block of Half Day Road, Highland Park. Schatz was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan and released on bond pending court date.

Disorderly conduct/false police report

Alfredo Ollua-Mendez, 33, of the 2700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to a dispute in the 2700 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park which was later determined to be a false police report.  Ollua-Mendez was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 8 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Waukegan.

Driving while license suspended

Isreal Romero-Bahena, 29, of the 400 block of Inland Road, Wheeling, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, Driving without headlights and Suspended Registration after being stopped by police near the intersection of Clavey Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Romero-Bahena was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 22 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Julio Tenorio, 31, of the 800 block of Edgewood Road, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed after police were called to a report of a vehicle accident near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Vine Avenue, Highland Park. Tenorio was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 8 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Jorge Ruiz-Merlos, 42, of the 1600 block of 10th Street, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed after police were called to a report of a vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Ruiz-Merlos was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 8 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.

Driving while license revoked

Gilberto Catalan, 31, of the 2100 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked after police were called to a report of a vehicle accident near the intersection of St. Johns Avenue and Vine Avenue, Highland Park. Catalan was released on bond with a court date of Feb, 8 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
