Police Blotter: Driving Under the Influence

The following items are taken from the Highland Park Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Driving under the influence

William R. Knilans, 40,  of the 400 block of Vine Street in Wilmette, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. His vehicle was stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. He was released on bond and was given a court date of Sept. 23.

Ashannti Lavin, 23, of the 2000 block of 89th Street in Kenosha, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended registration after her vehicle was stopped by police at 1800 Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. She has a court date of Sept. 16.

Ever Osnoya-Gutierrez, 19, of the 2000 block of Williamsburg Drive in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and having no insurance. His vehicle was pulled over by police in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park. He was given a court date of Sept. 28.

Christopher Collins, 29, of the 1800 block of Blossom Ridge in Bollingbrook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding, failure to signal a lane change and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. His car was stopped by police in 100 block of Edens Expressway, Highland Park. He has a court date of Oct. 7.

Jesus Barajas Jr., 23, of the 1700 block of Hebron Avenue in Zion, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police stopped his vehicle in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  He has a court date of Oct. 14.

Paula Forman, 67, of the 600 block of Mill Circle in Wheeling, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police stopped her vehicle near the intersection of Half Day Road and Western Avenue, Highland Park. She was given a court date of Sept. 16.

Marcelino Otero Jr., 27, of the 4100 block of Douglas Drive in Zion, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. His vehicle was stopped by police in the 3400 block of Skokie Valley Road Highland Park. He has a court hearing on Sept. 16.

Hugo Chavez, 32, of the 800 block of Laurel Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, having no registration and driving while license suspended. Police pulled over his vehicle in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road Highland Park. He was given a court date of Sept. 23.
