The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Police are investigating the report of a theft. It was reported that a purple crystal and currency were taken from a desk at a business.  No forced entry reported. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park. 

Police are investigating the report of a theft. It was reported that five black cast iron grill tops were brought outside for washing at approximately 5:50 p.m. and left to dry and were subsequently found stolen 10 minutes later possibly by scrappers. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft of a black iPhone contained in a blue case that was taken from a jacket while lying unattended. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West, Highland Park. 

Possession of cannabis

Aaron Blaker, 18, of the 2300 block of Flicker Lane, Rolling Meadows, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after a vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped by police for speeding in the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Blaker was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 22 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City.

Driving under the influence

Charles Brinckerhoff, 22, of the 200 block of Basswood Road, Lake Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Brinckerhoff was released on a cash bond with a court date of Feb. 3 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan. 

Kimberly Novak, 50, of the 700 block of Carriage Way, Deerfield, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after being stopped by police near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Ridge Road, Highland Park. Novak was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of Feb. 10 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan. 

Marco Bustos-Morales, 34, of the 2900 block of West 40th St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence, improper lane usage, driving without a valid license, failure to secure child in a approved restraint system and endangering the life of a child after police responded to a driving complaint in the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Bustos-Morales was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 10 at 18 North County Street, Waukegan.

Sale of alcohol to minor

Joshua Phillips, 49, of the 1300 block of Hood Avenue, Chicago, was cited for the unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor after police conducted an alcohol compliance check in the 0-100 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.  Phillips was issued an administrative citation with a court date of Feb. 16 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. 

Sandile Nkala, 23, of the 3000 block of Kathe Lane, Waukegan, was cited for the unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor after police conducted an alcohol compliance check in the 1800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.  Sandile was issued an administrative citation with a court date of Feb. 16 at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park.

Criminal damage to property

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that an unknown subject wrote a derogatory phrase on a storefront window located in the 2000 block of Green Bay Road sometime between Jan. 6 at 5 p.m. and Jan. 7.

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that several areas of the Port Clinton Square in the 600 block of Central Avenue had been damaged. A PVC pipe was removed from the door, several large metal gate sections, garbage cans and cigarette disposals had been tipped over. One gate section, signs and a flower arrangement were thrown down the stairwell.  Several broken pieces of PVC piping were found on the ground which appeared to have come from the ice arena's outer wall. 

Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property. It was reported that the glass front of a vending machine had been broken in the 700 block of St. Johns Avenue sometime between 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 8. There was no reported currency or items missing from the vending machine. 

Driving while license suspended

Edgar Gonzalez, 31, of the 4300 block of Troy Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 1500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Gonzalez was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 25 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois.
