Criminal damage to property
Police are investigating the delayed report of a criminal damage to property (living room window struck by BB pellets) in the 1100 block of Thorn Tree Lane, Highland Park. The damage occurred both over the summertime and approximately three weeks ago.

This occurred between Monday and the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 30 in the 1800 block of Cloverdale Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the delayed report of a criminal damage to property where a swastika was drawn on rear window of a vehicle with an unknown white substance, leaving no permanent damage to the vehicle sometime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park.

Police are investigating the report of a theft sometime between Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m. and Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. Cash was removed from the locked safe/drop box. The theft occurred in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.
Police are investigating the report of a theft where a male (30 to 35) years of age, 5'8", medium build, spiked hair, black leather jacket exited a store with one (possibly two) eye glass frames without paying for the product. The theft occurred in the 600 block of Elm Place, Highland Park.
Police are investigating the report of a theft (currency) where a wallet was accidentally left at a store. The victim later claimed the wallet and was missing currency from the wallet. The theft occurred in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park.
Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft where a wallet was stolen while the victim was patronizing a store sometime on Wednesday, Nov. 30. The victim later advised that her credit cards were used unlawfully on the same date. The theft occurred in the 600 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park.
Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft where a wallet was stolen from a purse while the victim was patronizing a store sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Dec. 1. The victim advised that her credit cards were used unlawfully on the same date at several different locations. The theft occurred in the 1800 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park.
Police are investigating the delayed report of a theft where an iPad was stolen from an unattended shopping cart outside of the store in the parking lot around 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 2. The theft occurred in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.
Driving while license suspended
Diane Ragalie, 59, of the 1100 block of Deerfield Place, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police near the intersection of Central Avenue and Fredricksons Place, Highland Park. Ragalie was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 11.
Jesus Hernandez, 29, of the 500 block of Leith Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Hernandez was released on bond with a court date of Dec. 28.
During an investigation of a stolen property case, it was found that a residential burglary occurred on Oct. 31, 2011 in the 1700 block of Clifton Avenue, Highland Park. An iPhone and iPod were taken.
Ramon Nunez, 44, of the 200 block of Lake Street, Libertyville, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, speeding and uninsured vehicle after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park. Nunez was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 25.
Salvador Ramirez, Jr., 31, of the 700 block of Spring Street, Aurora, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and uninsured vehicle after police responded to a vehicle that had slid into the ditch on the Half Day Road off ramp in Highland Park. Ramirez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of Jan. 11.
Joy Benjamin, 28, of the 1900 block of Langley, Great Lakes, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and driving without headlights after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park. Benjamin was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 11.
Driving under the influence
Robert Long, 21, of the 5000 block of Adele Drive, Gurnee, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, speeding, stop sign violation and open transportation of alcohol after Long’s vehicle struck a boulder and a tree near the intersection of Ridge Road and Ryders Lane in Highland Park. Long was released on bond with a court date of Jan. 6.
Melecio Albarran, 57, of the 800 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and enhanced driving while license revoked after being stopped by police in the 2700 block of Western Avenue in Highland Park. Albarran was transported to bond court.
