Readers' Choice Winner: Trax

It looks like Trax Tavern can expect to be pretty busy this weekend.

The Deerfield bar won this week's Readers' Choice poll. We asked readers what their favorite spot is for St. Paddy's Day in Deerfield, Highland Park and Highwood. Trax beat and Bridie McKenna's with 168 votes.

"Trax has been a great spot for a great dinner or watching a sports event on one of the many flat screen TV's," said Brian Hurley in the comments. "Good Food and great times!"

At Trax, attention will be divided between St. Patrick’s Day and the second round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

“We’ll have the usual green beer and corned beef and cabbage,” manager Robbie Cohn said. “It (the corned beef and cabbage) sells out every year. We’ll also be focused on the NCAA Tournament.”

Green beer will be flowing at Norton’s in Highland Park as well Saturday along with attention to the NCAA basketball tournament.

At Bridie McKenna’s, there will be a bagpiper, music and dancing to go along with green beer and the usual Irish fare on the menu.
